In 2004 Angie was a founding member of the Board of Emerge Arizona. This excellent program recruits and trains Democratic women to run for office. She graduated from the program in 2005, and is still on the board. Please take a look at their website: www.emergeaz.org. Angie was raised in Brookline, MA and graduated from Brookline High School in 1988. In 1996 she graduated magna cum laude from St. Joseph's College in Standish, ME. She truly understands the challenges of paying for a college education. It took her eight years to earn her degree, working two jobs while taking a full load of classes. She would take alternating semesters off to work three jobs to save for the following semester. After all of that, she still has student loans to repay, and had to work two jobs until she was 30 years old. Angie spent many school vacations with her Dad who was the State House reporter for a radio station in Boston. There she learned about the inner workings of state government, and what legislators were expected to do for their constituents. She also worked on several smaller campaigns, knocking on doors and calling voters. She has worked as an Office Manager for an all-boys camp on Sebago Lake in Maine, as a Public Services Associate for the American Camp Association that accredits summer camps, and as an Office Manager for a start-up digital strategy company in Boston, MA. At this job she had to manage a company that grew from five employees to 40 in less than two years, manage the build-out of a 9,000 sq. ft. space, and assist with marketing, scheduling and 40 different personalities. It was here that she proved she could facilitate cohesiveness given a wide variety of views. |
